Project Overview

We envision that future manufacturing systems are distributed close-knit systems in terms of an ensemble of various types of manufacturing processes being operated at different manufacturing stages at different locations, yet they are connected and coordinated in real-time by cyber architecture and analytics.

The goal of this project is to establish and validate a cyber-coordinated analytical platform for the efficient scale-up of STREAM. This is challenging due to machine heterogeneity and timely communication and computing needs, complex functional manufacturing process dependencies, and highly dynamic and multi-level system interactions.
